On the one hand, yes, the sentences in the manual just didn't seem to flow... on the other hand, it was awesome anyway. I remember vividly playing through the mission that was depicted in the book, and thinking "wow, I'm actually doing it".

None of this is new information.
And I'm the one who pointed out the information about the second author! Gli only further supported my claim. Why do I get no credit for that? Q_Q
BTW, the date is just a placeholder and is not official people. >_> It may come out sooner now that the first draft was finished last week!
The page number on Amazon.com is also speculated and is not official.

GW mods get no credit.
They are like the heroes undercover.

Being GWG mod is a time-altering experience that affects you before you even started being one!

I'm sorry dude, I didn't mean to steal your thunder. I actually quoted you in my post.
My post was just about putting all the pieces together to present a good case. I guess it worked because I've seen it linked to in several places now.

Yup...!
Also: please hang in there. We will have news about the books. I don't want to give a time frame because that tends to be misinterpreted -- still, when the information comes out, hopefully people will be excited.

So is it pretty well guaranteed that Guild Wars 2 won't come out before the books? Because the quote on Massively is the first I'd heard of that, don't know if I missed a source somewhere.
(note, the alternative I'd expect to see from ArenaNet would be something like "we're not going to hold the release of GW2 if it's ready before the books, but no guarantees either way")

I'm just wondering how they plan to cover 80+ years in less than 400 pages. And then do it again for each of the other books. Otherwise, sounds cool.

I know you can't say either way...but what news about the books can you actually have? I think its safe to say we have the names of 2/3 of the books, and from the titles you can infer what they're about (the fall of Ascalon and the rise of the dragons, not too hard). We also have a placeholder date for one.
All this waiting of knowing nothing just to tell us wait a little longer for the actual release date of a book?
Really now, the carrot is getting old and stale...

Who says they will?
The Fall of Ascalon will probably just be the events that happen 30 years after EN. Which could be just one year long.
I'd assume each book just covers certain events. Dragonrise will, imo, be about the rise of Orr mostly, unless there is a direct connection between the rising of the dragons. In which it would cover 80+ years. x) But it doesn't mean all three books will cover 80+ years. And who says all books will be under 400 pages?

Should be an interesting read. Doubt the first two will give us anything worthwhile concerning GW2 unless they are planning the release of the third book after the game has been released. If it is like the article tells it, with two authors releasing semi-close to each other we may have to scavenger out some GW2 nuggets.

I would very much appreciate it if the next thread spawned on this forum about the books actually contained official information.
